Starting our 4th Week of School

We are starting our 4th week of school. Wow, do we have a lot to report.

The PTA has been working hard to get things going for the 1026-2017 school year, Mr. Solomon and staff have been working hard and given us a lot of ideas and some big goals. So far we have:

-Identified two HUGE service projects

Stop Hunger Now – the students will come together on October 6, 2016 to pack meals for people that do not have them! This program was a great experience for all at WYMLA last year, so it is back. Learn more www.stophungernow.org

Adopted John Chavis Memorial Park in Raleigh. We will be doing a minimum of four work days at the park, beginning the last week of September. The John Chavis Memorial park will undergo a $12.5 renovation over the next two years. We are looking into further opportunities for your young men associated with the park.

-We have finalized the Spirit Wear supplier and now have the following available with and embroidered crest!

Cotton Polos in Forest Green, Grey, White Youth & Adult Sizes $20.00

Dri-Fit Polos in Forest Green, Grey and White in Youth & Adult Sizes $24.00

Pull-Over Hoodies in Forest Green, Charcoal or Black $25.00

Front Zip Hoodies in Forest Green, Charcaol or Black $25.00

Crew neck sweatshirts in Forest Green, Charcoal or Black $20.00

Screen Printed T-Shirts (great for weekends and service projects!) $10.00

This is our first order so please allow three weeks for delivery. These are sharp. I love my charcoal hoodie pullover with the embroidered crest! #schoolpride!

Our budget is done. I am thrilled that “administrative costs” are tiny and that we have already accounted for them through board donations and current membership dues.

So what? That means is that every dollar donated during our Phoenix Fund Raiser is going directly to programs creating opportunities for your young man. A lot more on this later. We are a small school with roughly 200 families. We create opportunities for boys in middle school, high school and early college. A huge challenge for a small group. Investments are not only dollars’ time investments are also strongly encouraged.
